Glad’s life began in mystery as she was found as a baby on the steps of the Temple of the Protector, set deep in the Weave Willows of the Forest Bastion. She was taken in by the priests and priestesses of the temple and raised in the ways of the Protector, developing a deep love for nature and her god. Despite being happy in her upbringing, Glad constantly wondered about her true parentage. Rumors circulated that she was descended from divine beings, the result of a passionate tryst between the Moonweaver and the Green Man. Though these rumors were intriguing and even fun to speculate about, Glad focused on more important things.

As she grew older, Glad became a beloved member of the temple and the wider community. She was well-liked for her kindness, her generosity, and her devotion to the Protector. But most of all, she was revered in the Forest Bastion for her love of the trees and creatures that lived within them. Later in life, Glad fell in love with an elf named Thiadikus, who was both a patron of her temple and a Paladin of her god. They would walk the footpaths of the Bastion, speak of their hopes and dreams, and care for the greater community together. The two married, and it seemed like their happiness would last forever.

However, tensions between the Elves and Goliath grew, and the Gathakanathi clan in the northern reaches of Terran Ridge began to attack the outskirts of the Forest Bastion. Their leader, Dragomir, incensed by the intermingling of Elves and Humans, sought to dominate and cleanse the landscape of this “obscenity”. Thiadikus went to fight for his people with his best friend, a human, Antonius, who was married to his sister Elyndrae. But tragically, he was killed in battle, betrayed by a former friend, or so the story went. This devastating loss shattered Glad’s world, and she was consumed by grief and anger.

Desperate for answers about her past and hoping that it would bring her some peace, Glad left her home and set out on a quest to discover the truth about her origins. And this was how I came to be involved. Glad needed a place to channel that anger and grief, but also a group to look after and find comfort in. Even with the insanity of the beginning of Collateral Damage, she was able to find solace in the party. She helped and healed the party when needed and celebrated with them on occasion as well. However, over the course of the party’s journey, her relationship with The Protector grew stale.

It wasn’t long after her visions of not only the Daughter of the Vine but of her alternate that Glad decided that The Protector and his ego were too much for her to bear any more. She renounced her faith in front of the party and instead decided to pull upon the strength of her ancestors and the power of her anger and grief. While she has calmed a bit and continued her mantle as the resident mother of the party, when words are not enough to solve problems, Glad is right up front, ready to solve them with her fists.

Winter’s Bite

Crafted from the scales, teeth, and gemstones of an ancient white dragon, Gothia’s Bane is a powerful circlet infused with primordial frost. When worn, it grants resistance to cold damage, enhances spellcasting with a +1 bonus to spell save DCs and spell attack rolls, and imbues melee strikes with an added surge of icy power. The circlet can also release a burst of restorative magic, healing an ally within 120 feet that Galadóriel can see.
