Attros began his life as an orphaned Kenku on the streets of Gamsby, Mechfall. But he was adept with mechanical and magic constructs and a quick study. He apprenticed under a few tinkerers within the guilds but couldn’t ever get past entry level. While the Enclave is a meritocracy in many senses, it is not without faults. Kenku are seen as “less than” the other races for the most part because of their ability to mimic others. They’re thought to be unoriginal, derivative, and lacking innovation. Attros didn’t see it that way, nor did the other Kenku who lived and worked within the city’s lower classes. One such Kenku was Edgar, a charismatic fellow who became very close to Attros. Together they decided to form their guild, one that would exclusively be comprised of Kenku. The Tell-Tale Guild.

This guild had a reputation for doing anything. Nothing, for them, was off limits. With Edgar and Attros at the helm, the size and scope of the guild grew to incredible heights. Edgar was the face, a unique man who had taught himself to speak with his voice and not the mimicry of others. Attros was the tech behind the scenes, innovating new gadgets and weaponry to carry out their various misdeeds. They soon established a foothold on the islands of Iwi and found a soft spot in the fabric between planes that would bring them to the prime material plane of Granzia, where they quickly made a name for themselves.

But this is where the story took a turn for Attros. It was in Granzia, in the small and nameless village outside of the cursed region of Barovia, where he met Lenore. Lenore was a loving, caring, and beautiful Snow Owl Aarakocra. Now, not much is known about their early relationship, but she had a profound effect on Attros. So much so that he decided to leave the guild to have a life with her. The guild at large was not keen on this, but Edgar made it known that no harm was to come to them. Unfortunately, this was not how things played out. It was at their small shop in that same village that he found Lenore’s body. 

After her burial, and in a deep depression, Attros was approached by a well-dressed figure. This figure offered him the power to seek his revenge in return for his soul. Lost and grieving, Attros took this deal. It wasn’t too long after that he caught up with a large chunk of the Tell-Tale Guild, including Edgar. Using his newly gained power and his extensive arcane knowledge, he slew all those who wore the insignia of the Guild.
